The Smooth Application at the Mali Embassy in Accra (Ghana)

Armed with the official invitation letter, I headed to the Mali Embassy in Accra, Ghana. The atmosphere here was completely different—welcoming, professional, and exceptionally helpful.

Reception & Online Form: I met the consular advisor, Mr. Abdullah, who reviewed my invitation letter and instructed me to complete the application on the official online visa portal, ensuring I selected the Accra mission.
Overcoming System Glitches: I filled out the form and uploaded my flight reservation, hotel booking, Yellow Fever certificate, and invitation letter. Although the online system sent a confirmation email, the attachments did not push through due to portal connection issues. Mr. Abdullah stepped in immediately, shared his WhatsApp number, had me send the documents directly, and uploaded and verified everything on his end.
Bamako Clearance & Payment: After a quick internal verification call with immigration authorities in Bamako, my file was cleared. I paid the €65 visa fee in cash to the embassy cashier, Maryam.
Collection: In less than two hours from the moment I walked in, my passport was returned with an official single-entry Malian visa sticker matching my invitation dates.

Carry Cash for Daily Expenses: International credit and debit cards rarely work in Bamako. Bring sufficient cash in Euros or USD to convert to West African CFA Francs. Actually I found an ATM that accept my iraqi card, but it took me awhile, I checked over 10 ATMs, finally found the proper one that accept my card. so always its better to have euro in cash to exchange there and dont relay on ATM luck.
